Quick and Easy Beef Stroganoff
When I was first married this recipe was one that I tried. I couldn’t ‘cook a lick’ as my father used to say, but this recipe was easy enough to figure out and still look like a decent cook for my new husband. And it really does taste good.
12 oz sirloin steak
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 cans sliced mushrooms, 4 oz size cans
1 med onion, chopped
2 c beef broth
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ c tomato sauce
½ tsp paprika
1 ½ c instant rice
½ c sour cream
Cut steak into thin strips. Brown in oil in skillet. Add mushrooms and onion. Sauté for 3 minutes or until onion is tender. Add broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce and paprika. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes. Stir in rice and let stand, covered for 5 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Serves 4.
